Claims FAQs

Can I take my vehicle to any garage?
We have a ton of Select In-Network repair facilities that work with Proguard, all of which have been vetted and approved for their reliability.

How do I open a claim?
Once your vehicle is at the repair facility, they should diagnose the problem and contact us to open a claim. Other than that, you don’t need to do anything.

What if the repair facility requires payment upfront?
To protect yourself, do not authorize any work until you receive notification that the repair facility has a claim authorization number from Proguard.

How do I know what parts are covered in my plan?
Your contract explains in detail which components are covered or in the case of Proguard 5, which components aren’t covered. If you don’t have your contract handy, refer to your ID card to see which plan you have.

What will I have to pay for?
Your deductible and any uncovered components. If your vehicle needed towing and your coverage did not include that, it’s your responsibility unless you have AAA.

How will I know the status of my claim?
Once your claim has been opened, you’ll receive notification from the repair facility that it’s approved, and work can begin. They should keep you updated as to the work being done.
